Harvest Festival Disco
WOW what a wonderful time our children had at the end of term harvest festival disco.
Having taken on the task of running the disco at short notice (I was advised by mums and previous members of the PTFA committee, the children would be looking forward to this event), I was a little doubtful that things would run smoothly as our normal DJ was not available!
Would playing tracks from an i-player work? Would the children feel free to boogie away without a DJ? Did we have enough time to plan a successful occasion? Would anyone volunteer to help?
All of my concerns were unfounded, the children had a wonderful time and they were so well behaved, a credit to us as parents.
In total they drank 3 litres of squash and ate 1 large tray of pizza, 5 boxes of sweets, lit 5 tubes of glow sticks. However their biggest achievement was making more popcorn disappear than I care to mention. In recognition of their enthusiasm, dancing ability and their excellent behaviour, I have decided to purchase a popcorn maker for us to use at future events. It can also be shared by the film club and used for class teas too!
There were 3 spot prizes for great dancing too!
The Committee would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who helped put up take down and sell our goodies, and who helped in every way however big or small. Now all we have to worry about is the Christmas Bazaar (!). We are still counting the money and a final total will be available soon.
